Nearly every piece of literature about Bertha Brock Park on M-21 in Ionia County uses the phrase "hidden gem" to describe the 200-acre park that strikes the perfect balance between untamed wilderness and well-maintained facility.

Behind the unassuming wooden sign on M-21 lies a trout stream, a huge sledding hill, four miles of trails and paved paths, 20 rustic campsites, playgrounds, picnic areas, three stone bridges, a gazebo, a public carving wall, covered pavilions, a historic lodge, a disc golf course, tennis courts and a softball field.
