In Beverly Hills, a Richard Landry

Back in the late 2000s, on the best block of one of Beverly Hills’ most coveted

Back in the late 2000s, on the best block of one of Beverly Hills’ most coveted streets, a wealthy businessman in the auto parts supply industry enlisted architect Richard Landry to craft a new mega-mansion for him from scratch. The result is a stately Italian-inspired residence that just popped up for sale for the first time ever, asking a whopping $45 million.

Nestled amid three-quarters of an acre secluded behind gates, and embellished out front by a manicured courtyard bolstered by a statuesque fountain, the impressive stone and terracotta-roof structure was completed in 2010, and features five bedrooms and 10 baths in over 20,400 square feet of ornate living space spread across two levels, plus a basement. Fancy amenities include a 400-bottle wine room, wet bar-equipped game room, wood-paneled library and detached gym. There's also a Crestron home-automation system, commercial elevator and not just one but two backup generators.

Arched double doors crowned with a Juliette balcony open into a soaring chandelier-topped entry foyer displaying water-cut Italian marble inlaid floors and a curving wrought-iron staircase. An attached rotunda flows out to the backyard, while a fireside living room rests beneath an ornamental ceiling, an elegant blush-hued dining room seats at least 12, and a sleekly designed kitchen is decked out with custom Neff cabinetry, an eat-in island, top-tier stainless appliances and an accompanying breakfast nook.

Upstairs, four en-suite bedrooms with individual foyers include a posh master retreat sporting a fireplace, sitting area, walk-in closet, and ritzy bath holding dual vanities and a marble soaking tub stationed right in the middle of the room. There's also a subterranean level equipped with a full staff suite, movie theater and showroom-style garage that can accommodate up to 12 vehicles; and outdoors, the park-like grounds host a 54-foot pool, as well as a raised spa, fire-pit, and several spots for al fresco lounging and entertaining.

The property is co-listed by Kirby Gillon of AKG | Christie's International Real Estate and Safir Shamsi of Rodeo Realty.
